CD Projekt Red officially announces The Witcher Remake, an updated version of its very first game

The Polish video game studio is developing a new version of the first The Witcher game. CD Projekt Red's first title is being made in partnership with Fool's Theory.

"The Witcher, that's where it all started for us, for CD Projekt Red." The studio has made official a remake version of its first completed game: The Witcher.

This announcement follows the presentation of the company's future projects in early October. The game was then presented under the working name "Canis Majoris".

Development in its infancy

In 2007, the Polish developers brought to life Geralt of Riv, the hero of The Witcher series of novels, written by Andrzej Sapkowski.

This first game allowed CD Projekt Red to make a name for itself, before meeting with great success a few years later, still thanks to titles centered on the witch doctor.

To re-birth the first episode of The Witcher, CD Projekt Red has teamed up with another Polish development studio: Fool's Theory.

The work is in its infancy, but the studio assures that the utmost care and attention is being paid to the title.
